Man! 2018 was such a great year!
It was a year of growth in my personal life and in my business. We welcomed our sweet baby boy. I shot close to 20 weddings. TWELVE different photographers let me second shoot with them. This helped me so much with seeing how weddings typically go and seeing what works well. I learned so much and truly fell in love with shooting weddings. I love having the opportunity to connect with ENTIRE families and spend so much time with other couples. Often times I think to myself, “man, I really want to have them over for a cookout!”. If you don’t know us, cookouts are our thing. We love it. Food. Fellowship. Building relationships. Letting the kids go cray on the water slide. Our favorite things all rolled up in one tortilla (or bean blanky if you’re Tom Haverford). Now if this Indiana winter would just hurry up so we can enjoy summer again! Anyways, on with it! These are my favorite wedding images from 2018!
This was my first wedding that I did solo!
Soon I will be doing a blog post with a letter to myself on that first wedding. My biggest mistake was doing it alone. I should’ve brought a friend or my hubby to help me out! Especially since I was 32 weeks pregnant! This wedding was at the Schenck Mansion in Vevay, IN. This is one of the only wedding venues located in Vevay, IN. It is absolutely beautiful and my favorite thing is that there are so many rooms for your bridal party or family to stay in if they have to travel for the wedding! Adrienne and Joey were so joyful and patient with me as I found my footing on their day!
These next images are from a wedding in Batesville, IN that I shot with Natasha Bunger of Natasha Bunger Photography!
Natasha is so sweet and really took me under her wing in 2018. She showed me a lot of new things! She’s been in business for 8+ years so learning from her was a blessing! These are just 5 of my favorites from the day!
The following images were from a wedding at Nathanael Greene Lodge in Cincinnati, OH
I shot this one with Kristina Herman of K Herman Photography. She is super sweet and her and her fiance shoot most weddings together! This bride and groom had a team-for real, there were 6 of us- there to make sure their day was captured perfectly!
This here is another one shot with Natasha at Anderson’s Riviera Inn in Rising Sun, IN
This one is a hidden gem. Right on the river with plenty of rooms for bridal parties and family. This Inn is a small, family owned company which makes it so much more special!
The next set is brought to you from Huber’s Orchard and Winery.
I had the pleasure of meeting Breanne Ware of Redeeming Grace Photography for this wedding! We’re both believers and she said that’s why she chose me to shoot with her for this wedding! She has a dark and moody style that is so beautiful and brings so much emotion to her images!
This one was a wedding in Seymour, IN with Lauren Dafoe. Bridal party and first look were shot a Schneider’s Nursery.
Lauren is originally from New York and currently lives in Seattle! She was so sweet and it was so cool to work with someone from a different area!
Next, another beautiful wedding with Natasha!
Kelli & Tommy were such a fun couple! The way he looks at her really shows how much love they share!
And another. Natasha, thank you so much for letting me spend so many days with you!!
Catrina is a former pageant regular. She knew what to do! And can we talk about these squad goals?!
This next one I could cry over.
My sweet sister got married at The White Barn Venue in Madison, IN and I had the pleasure of doing their photos! I feel like this wedding is when I really honed in on my style and the feel I wanted for my images. Everything I shot after this one seemed so easy. And I shot this wedding one week before our sweet boy came! I swear it was the hottest day of the summer too.
This isn’t all of the weddings I shot in 2018. Some of them were more low-key and I was assisting or second shooting and didn’t take as many images! I feel like all of these images best represent my style. I had so much fun in 2018 and I am so stinkin’ thankful that I get to help provide for my family through my creative outlet!!
Thanks so much for the support! 2019 will be a busy one! I am in the midst of planning a styled shoot and then this summer is packed full of weddings with so many beautiful people!!
Love you guys!!
