Let me start this by saying “thank you!” to all of the people who have encouraged me along this journey!! Looking back, it makes so much sense that I became a photographer. I’ve always been passionate about photography and let’s be real, I’ve never been a great employee. I like to do things my own way, have my own systems, and make my own schedule! Enter: Entrepreneurship. I’m thankful for the opportunity I have to build a business and serve amazing clients. And now we get to be Kentucky videographers who also serve clients all over! So, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Why We Are Adding Video
Business has picked up fairly quickly! Praise God! You never know what you are going to get when you start a business. I’ve worked hard to put out consistent work, refine my craft, and learn from the best in the industry. I feel that I am creating photography that represents what I want it to. Since being in the wedding industry, I’ve found that that is not the case when it comes to wedding videos.
The Decision to Become Both Kentucky Photographers and Videographers
Once I noticed the disconnect between wedding photos and wedding videos, I was spinning my wheels constantly to try and figure out how I could provide my clients with consistency, quality, and professionalism in both mediums. I looked into training an associate, hiring contractors I trusted, and even shooting photo & cinema all by myself – which isn’t really possible. Talk about control issues. When I shared my struggles with my husband, Josh, he almost instinctively offered to do it! Now, I had thought about asking him, but ladies, you know how it is. It has to be his idea! I didn’t want to pressure him or ask too much of him. So I waited until he felt the push to offer.
Our Transition to Adding Wedding Cinema
So here we are! Diving head first into video and LOVING every second! I am still passionate about photography and the heirlooms I get to create, but we are realizing that that is also possible with wedding cinema. We get to capture full moments instead of freezing them in time. We love both and I don’t think we will ever choose one over the other. Being wedding videographers in Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Louisville is something that will elevate our business and serve our clients even better. We’re so excited to be a husband & wife team and eventually Josh will join me full time (Lord willing!). He’ll get to be home with me and our kiddos throughout the week and grow this business alongside me. So, again, thank you to everyone who makes this possible for us!
